The geographic region from which a location draws the majority of its customers or visitors, determined by analyzing origin points of observed visits.
Unlike a trade area (which is usually defined by a fixed visit-share threshold), a catchment area is often drawn more loosely around anything within a practical travel distance useful for early-stage market sizing before a more precise trade area model is run. Factori builds these down to the block or intersection level using observed visit origins rather than simple drive-time radii.
