A coordinate system using degrees of latitude (north-south) and longitude (east-west) to specify any location on Earth’s surface with precision.
Latitude runs from -90° at the South Pole to +90° at the North Pole; longitude runs from -180° to +180° relative to the Prime Meridian together they’re the coordinate pair that every geocoded address, POI, and boundary ultimately reduces to before it can be mapped or spatially joined against anything else.
